Yahoo directory worth $300?

Is there a free way onto the yahoo directory or is $300 a year to be listed? Is it worthwhile or a waste of $$ I see my biggest competitors are all there but I'm guessing I could put $300 to better use someplace else.

opinions?

My wife and I are considering Yahoo. We are new with a limited budget. Almost went for it until we found the page we would be on is a prZERO! Haven't thrown the baby our with the bathwater just yet, but interested in what others think.

well depends, the $300 only tells you that yahoo will list you within 48 hours or something but that's different from ranking you. I did pay for a listing 2 years ago, but I dont think it did anything than take my $300.00 lol ..maybe someone else had better success than myself

Im with John, if you are on a limited budget there are much better ways to spend 300 bones.

This is just the review fee and it does not assure 100% the website listing into Y! directory. I think it worth, but there are also another options, so with this amount you may buy listings into several good (and cheaper) directories.
