Default Hello all! Newbie here.

I am a new real estate agent in San Diego trying to get a website designed and hopefully ranked well. I'm sure I will learn a great deal at this forum as I already have, but where should I start? Should I pay to have one designed? If so, what costs should I expect? Any help will be much appreciated.

MC

MC Welcome to the forum:
Your question is one with many answers you can pay $500 to someone in india for a site that will look like a $500 website or you can go to the top of the top in web design companies and spend upwards of $30,000 for the most amazing website you will ever see.

My advice if your going to pay someone is target no less then $1500 and no more then $7000 for a real estate website. I would go for less expensive one first just to introduce yourself to the internet and get a feel for what it takes and how involved you want to get.

Some agents like to learn this SEO stuff and try to rank their sites on their own and many are very successful, if it turns out that this is your path then you can save yourself a lot of money as rankings can cost you quite a bit (Although if your site converts well and your a good agent then its likely worth it)

We are here to give you all the free advice you need be it Real estate advise or choosing the right designer. one of the things you want to ensure is that your designer can build a search engine friendly frame that will also be appealling to the visitors.

Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like, this forum is brand new however I have a lot experience building such communities and if you get into more advanced SEO stuff feel free to stop by the SEO Only forum at www.seo-guy.com/forum/

Great to have you
