Anyone have any suggestions for an effective real estate blog layout?
I've found a "sticky" add on for wordpress that will allow me to keep a post always on top as well as a really nice theme that I think I borrowed from someone on this site who borrowed it from someplace else. I have added a few pages for other content as well as a google map that I may use for current open houses or featured listings. Any other suggestions or am I making my blog look too much like a web page? I may also add some spreadsheets with googles new spreadsheet sharing http://docs.google.com/ with sales figures for the last few years. my test site for blogs: http://www.building-zone.com/wordpress/

I like the look of your blog. How did you upload that picture? Thanks for the G map plug-in. I have to find my API key to install it. It looks like a blog to me - not a web page.

I see you have wordpress on your own server.
I picked a diiferent theme that had a picture where you have the big blue default header. I'm no webpage guru but it was pretty easy to right click on the picture and select properties. This told me where the original picture was stored as well as the pixel dimensions. http://www.building-zone.com/wordpre...es/mainpic.jpg All you have to do is follow the path to the proper directory and replace your image with the one supplied with the theme and name it the same as the original. I used photoshop to crop one of my original photos to that size. I then went into the html code and replaced the default wordpress image with my own. Easy as pie. There are also hundreds of wordpress plugins that make it very easy to add all kinds of neat features to your blog. Also hundreds of different templates. http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes/Theme_List http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins The only problem with any of these themes and plug ins is that they don't always work well together which is why I try things out on a test server before screwing up what I already have.

Thanks, I will look into it. I don't think I have access to the backend of WordPress (done through REW) so I will wait and see what they say. My basic format could be more appealing to the eye.
