Default Article Submissions

I've read in here, and especially in some SEO specific forums, that Article Submission is a fantastic way to get ranked higher on Google. I was an English major in college and can really crank out copy - I've written five ~1000 word articles in the last few days. Does anyone have any comments on how effective this is? Any pointers? Any suggestions on where to post the articles? I've been posting to:
www.ezinearticles.com
www.articlesender.com
www.isnare.com
www.goarticles.com
www.buzzle.com
www.articlealley.com
www.realestatearticle.com

Also - since I'm creating all this content - will it help my website to post each article as a page?

Default Re: Article Submissions

If you are writing articles for submission, do not post them on your own site, this may confuse the search engines and those pages posted to your own site may be seen as dupe content.

TRUE article writing is meant to show you as an authority, and gets you one way links that you don't even ask for or have to embed in your article because people read them on respected websites and decide to link to you out of respect and appreciation.

That being said, embedding a text link in the article before distribution is never a bad idea.

IMO these sites will get you a back link but wont make you a true authority

www.ezinearticles.com
www.articlesender.com
www.isnare.com
www.goarticles.com
www.buzzle.com
www.articlealley.com
www.realestatearticle.com

What would make you a true authority?
Writing for realtor.com or realtytimes.com etc topically related websites held in high regard by the SE's that a lot of your peers or customers would be exposed to.

Hi Eric.

What topics will you be writing on? I can probably point you toward some websites, or at least get you on the right track.

To be really successful with this approach, you'll want to go beyond the article directories like EzineArticles and Buzzle. Those are great places to start, but you can find a treasure trove of untapped resources out there if you do enough digging.

There's an "interview" on SEObuzzbox.com about the viral nature of article marketing. You might find it interesting and helpful:

Good luck.

I'm writing, exclusively, on real estate & mortgages. I've started publishing @ www.top7business.com b/c it's fairly easy to write an intro, seven pointers, and close it out. Here's a few articles that I've written and submitted.
http://www.articlealley.com/article_107321_33.html
http://www.articlealley.com/article_107085_33.html
http://www.articlealley.com/article_107070_33.html
http://www.articlealley.com/article_106990_33.html
http://www.articlealley.com/article_106985_33.html
http://www.articlealley.com/article_106972_33.html

Let me know if you have any pointers on where else to submit. Thanks for the seobuzz.box pointer - I really liked the article, especially "Think “helpful” and the viral part will come automatically."

Nicely done Eric. I wonder if writing articles for Realtors, or writing articles for Realtors' customers would produce more downloads? I will be starting the article submission process myself and have pondered this. Eric, I noticed you have written to both audiences. I'd be curious to see which type is downloaded more. Anybody else with a thought on this?

Forgot to add something...

Keep in mind that many small business websites will publish articles similar to what you've written. In fact, marketing topics are ideal because you can find a ton of high-ranking marketing sites that would be happy to publish a well-written piece on blogging, SEO, email marketing, direct mail, networking ... you get the idea.

Happy writing!

I found a company that is going to start writing for me. I hate trying to write article. I will see how it works out. He is going to submit it to 1500 arcticle sites. We will see what happens.

NuHomeSource,

It would be interesting to see how the company is submitting to the 1,500 article sites. Do you know if they are manually submitting to all these sites? I would definitely ask for an excel spreadsheet or some accounting of where your articles are being submitted.

Eric, looks like you are doing a terrific job on your writing. I browsed through the article on becoming an agent - excellent tips!

I would rather hire someone else to write as well. I actually had professional writers writing all my blog posts on my real etate blog. They did a great job with their articles and the articles were very relevant. Unfortunately, they raised their fees so I decided to stop their service.

How much are they charging you for 1500 articles, have to imagine that would be expensive. Most writers who do a good job charge around $20 a page and that would make that $30K, so I doubt you paid that. I hope you received examples of what they are going to write for you before you signed a contract with them.
