I have done a couple of tests already with some third tier terms, now I am moving onto what I would refer to as semi-competitive terms. Once this test is over, I am going to try for a really competitive term.

Ok so what the heck am I talking about? Well as many of you know, members now have the ability to have a blog right here on REW - what I am doing is testing the rankability of the blogs, making sure that I am doing all that I can with them to ensure that the posts that the members make on their blogs can rank well in Google and help drive traffic to their websites.

So here is my test. My keyword phrase is "Atlanta MLS" - I created a post for one of our members in Atlanta Joshua Keen you can view it at http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...keen/102/show/ - Now I did not do much on this post because I am trying to emulate the average 5-10 minute post that a user will typically make armed with basic SEO knowlege.

To get the post indexed quickly I added a link to it in the forum navigation. So lets see how long it takes to get this thing indexed and when it does, lets see where it lands

I was about to Digg it. Did you want me to? Or would you rather just see what happens on its own? Didn't want to change any of the variables that you are not evaluating.

I will be really interested to watch this happen...I have a feeling that this will be one of the more interesting pieces of internet marketing in the real estate game in 2007.

Sorry for the late reply. Morgan has built into the blogs the ability to quickly Digg or Delicio.us a post simply by clicking the symbol by the post.

Why does this help the SEO conscious blogger? Because if you look at the front page of Digg, 120 to 150 "Diggs" gets you a lot of exposure, traffic and the inbound links that come with it.

Exposure on those sites can represent significant traffic to a blog...

Some of the other blogging platforms out there do this kind of thing with add ons and mods and the like...

It is one of SEVERAL reasons why I said that the blogs he's created (ing) are cool. There are other less obvious goodies that it looks like he is building in as well....Having them built in so that a REALTOR doesn't have to customize was a nice touch, hence the kudos.

Yeah I am basically building it with as many Goodies as I can (Out of the box) to help make it perfect for real estate agents. Another cool feature is the the Google Base RSS generator. What is this? If you add your listings to your REW blog, it will automatically create the appropriate RSS feed for Google base.

I don't have any real listings in my blog, but here is my Google base RSS for my fake one http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...s/google-base/

Incidentally, I have been getting a lot of blog spam so I decided to set up a queue for comments - This queue is a little different (But quite similar) to the word press add on - ours will queue any non registered REW Blog users, but those blog users that have an REW blog will see their comments right away - In addition, users will have the ability to disallow certain registered users of their choice from leaving comments.
