Default Invitation: Guest Authors

I would like to get feedback from the folks planning on using the REW blog.

I think this is a good idea, but see what everyone else thinks. I would like to invite people who use REW blogs to write a short (or long) article on real estate in general, Memphis area, or any relevant subject and I would be happy to place the article on my REW blog as a guest author.

Of course, in return I would appreciate the same opportunity.

Would this not be a good way to exchange links and content? It seems to me it would be at least slightly better than exchanging links alone because you receive the extra content and highly targeted links.

Input and feedback welcomed, is it worth our time? Would people be interested? Would we be at any sort of risk or creating a Link farm by mistake?

I think it is a great idea - that was one of the reasons we created the blogs in the first place (A much more advanced way to exchange links) by having 100% contextually relevant content linking with a focus on unique quality content and only one or two outbound links to a relevant site in each article - I am not sure if you are aware of this Ed, but REW blogs installed on a website have admin functionality, so you can actually assign blog accounts (Featured author accounts if you like) much like I do here for sumissions.

I actually came back here tonight looking for this exact thread...what do you know, I found it in 1 minute (haha)! I have recently swapped out my old outdated blog with a new blog and I am now addicted, in over my head. I am trying to build partnerships with many of the wonderful real estate blogers around the US and I have had some luck lately. I would love to offer up "author positions" on my blog and would like to post content on other blogs as well. So Memphis, I have your back and would love to get started! If any other viewers see this, I have set up an author submission directions on the right side of my blog just below the first few links. Happy Blogging!

That sounds like a plan Memphis. We should do some chit chatting either through this thread or through email to plan our marketing strategy. Gathering other people together will be the first issue on the agenda…As will authoring each others blogs with relevant posts. I will think more on this issue and will get back to you tomorrow...I have a funeral to attend this Thursday in West Palm Beach, F.L. I'll be back on Friday, but still should be able to post and research.

There’s a nice little event coming up in the blog world. I think we should respond as much as possible. It's called the "Yankee Blog Swap" and is going down December 19th. Look it up...it’s going to be a perfect opportunity to respond and network. I've also noticed some rapid progression with my blog. We will talk...thanks for responding Memphis; you raised my spirit a notch or two!

Memphis;

I'd be pleased to join in. I only have limited time but would be glad to help out. As importantly--I think part of it should be to compare results and see how some of this is working out.

To Morgan and the guys who offered suggestions at the start...Mert, Bob , Josh et al...Very solid job...Results are starting to show SERP wise...Thanks VERY much...

Best;

Eric

Eric,

That's good news. I'm confident that the three of us posting "author posts" will generate decent results. It will take some time, but it's starting to sound like it will be fun to get some interaction through our blogs. I'm going to work on a few things tonight and I'll come back to make another post with any findings, or relevant information. Nice to meet you Eric!

Cool deal
I think if we do it right it could be a really cool thing with good benefit.
I'll give an example of my basic idea....... I could write an article on REO properties and benefits and downsides there of and you publish it on your blog with a link or two to my site.

Then, you write an article on vacation properties, or military transfers, ect and I post it on my site with obviously links to your site.

Two questions I would like answered:
1) could we inadvertantly create a link farm if say the three of us have links going back and forth?

2) Should we place the article on our own site to make "claim" of the property sort of speak; or should we not, so that the article on the other site is showing up as original and not dup content?

Kid, all of REW, anyone else----------thoughts on that?
