To me it validates my thoughts regarding the recurring subjects of supplementals and indexing.... it comes right down to link strength.

I had several pages that showed up as being cached and then not cached and then they showed up again with dates that were a couple of months ago. Is this because of different Google servers? I first thought the pages had been sent to the supplemental results but they popped up again. Any explanations appreciated.

You are probally looking at different data centers. Just chill for a week or so and everything should even out.

That is what I thought as well. Thanks for the input.

My site is relatively new. Maybe 1-2 months old. I have it hosted on site5 where they offer something called "domain pointers". This one and several other new sites were under the domain pointer. It's sort of like a subdomain, I guess. But all the new sites are starting to go into the supplmental results. I posted on the site5 forum and this is what a staff member told me.
"I suspect the problem is that google is finding these pages by crawling the main domain. And then it associates the pointer with the main domain." He is suggesting a script: http://tips-scripts.com/?tip=pointers#tip I will try it for one of the other sites but today I moved this particular site to a different place outside of the domain pointer area. It's now on it's own. We'll see what happens. I think I understand what VRI is saying about some pages going into supplemental results after a little while, but it doesn't make any sense that my new site pages went there first. This has never happened to me before and I have quite a few other sites on different IPs. This is the first time I have tried the domain pointer thing. |
