I thought it would be a great idea to get some brainstorming going on article topics. By articles, I mean the type that we produce for submission to goarticles, ezine articles etc

We want them to be as useful as possible in the hopes that many sites pick them up and post them on their own sites (For the backlink of course)

There are literally millions of things to write about, so lets start the ideas flowing:

Top 5/10 reasons to invest in rental properties
Roles of a buyers agent

Pitfalls of FSBO

There are already hundreds of those articles at every article submission site there is. You need to think outside the box if you want your articles to stand out. Not that I have the answer as to what to write, just know that the same old stuff will not get you very far.

I think that articles promoting the services of a particular industry in a real estate transaction are pretty good - especially if your goal is to have them picked up. Here are a few - I'm sure that a lot of them have been written, but that doesn't mean you can't put your own insight into the topic (I would come up w/ catchier titles than these, btw.)

1) Why you should need a buyer's agent to help you buy a new construction home.
2) Is a discount Realtor for you?
3) Why you should get a home inspection on a new construction home.
4) Why you should refuse to commit to the builder's lender.
5) Why you should quote an Independent Insurance Agent. (benefits over captive markets)
6) Benefits of an irrigation system for your foundation.
7) Benefits of gutters.
8) Benefits of using a mortgage broker.
9) Why you need a listing agent, even in a booming market.

I didn't read thru all the topics but here's one I have have done and plan to do more of. (sorry if it was already mentioned.) I check the local newpaper / magazines for new subdivisions, condo developments, etc. Why not write an article about it and also add a new page to your website at the same time? Point the article to the new page on your website too. Because the subdivision is so new, there's not much out there on it. You can be first! It works. :-)

Wow! I got some great ideas for content here. Another good idea would be articles on the major industries of your town. You could probably do a page on each major industry based there.
