Hello guys,
I have managed to get the Real Estate Webmasters URL unbanned from DIGG.com (Thank you so much DIGG team) All you REW Bloggers (And all members in fact) Please respect DIGG, and do not submit any old thing you see here AND ESPECIALLY DON'T SUBMIT YOUR OWN SELF PROMOTIONAL ARTICLES I am going to be leaving the "Digg this" icons off of the blogs for now until I can make sure we have properly educated all members and readers on proper use of DIGG.com For those of you interested in DIGG you can sign up at http://www.digg.com - Once you have an account, you can submit articles that you find particularly interesting AND that you think the other readers of DIGG will find interesting as well. It is a democratic collection of information, post great articles and the users will thank you by digging them, post spam, or crap that isn't supposed to be there and the users will flag it as spam, and you will get your URL (And if it is on our blogs, our URL) banned from DIGG Please do your best to ONLY SUBMIT THE BEST ARTICLES YOU HAVE EVER READ to DIGG, that way we don't run into the unfortunate situation we ran into when a few blog users were digging their own listings. DO NOT DIGG YOUR LISTINGS!

yeah - the folks at DIGG are actually pretty great for understanding the situation - it was innocent enough, there was no malicious intent, one member just didn't understand what the digg this link was and was digging his own properties, I explained it to them, appologized and I think what helped the most was I documented all the headaches I went through to identify the problem and resolve it - I put in the effort and they recognized it.

Morgan,
FWIW if it was me, I am sorry. I thought I read a thread somewhere here that said we should submit them. However, I never Dugg my own posts. Either way, congrats on getting it squared away.

Not a problem bro - the digg this link should not have been on the properties in the first place

Digging your own articles doesn't have a direct effect on your search engine rankings, what it does is get your article in front of a bunch of eyeballs (More traffic) for a very limited amount of time.

Wouldn't a Digg be considered an inbound link? On a strange search term having that inbound link could help. I checked and the Digg HTML doesn't specifiy nofollow or external.

I would never DIGG just to get backlinks, it would be very obvious and get you banned.
Do they count as backlinks? I actually don't want to know because then I might be tempted and then I would get banned again ![]()
