How important is WHAT we submit to the directories?

For instance when we were brand new to linking we would post things like the following

www.rbcondo.com
My name is mike brown and I'm a realtor who would like to sell you a house.

As we progressed it became something a little more like

Rehoboth Beach Real Estate
REALTOR Michael Brown specializes in single family home sales at the beach.

What is the next step? Deeper interior linking? Going after long tails? Keyword packed descriptions?

I'm planning on doing a few days of directory submissions but I don't want to cut and paste the same old junk I've been using for the last year.
Any suggestions? Does the content even matter or is it just the link text that is important?

instead of wasting your time you should pay someone to do it. i use a guy that does 500 for like 85 dollars

Some directories will only post your name and/or company no matter what you tell them to post. They might also edit a lengthy description.

You should always mix up your anchor text and possibly get some deep linking. But if I were going to change things up I'd do it myself so I could choose which directory, based on perceived value, to give what anchor text.
