Wanted to say thanks to everyone here who's helped me, and continues to help me on my SEO Journey. I'm ranking top 20 for "austin real estate" on one of my sites, ranking 1st page on a bunch of non-competitive terms on the same site, & ranking page 1 for a ton of long-tails & non-competitive terms for another site. I've only been at it since November, and I'm seeing improvement every day! Most importantly, I'm converting & selling, and definitely am a believer in the ROI of internet marketing.

And I'm not slowing down - I keep plugging away @ what's working, and I'm not going to quit until I'm #1 on all the terms I want!

top 20 for a main key phrase since only November? that's awesome. Sounds like you will be hitting top spot in no time. Great job!
Have you checked if Austin Texas real estate is a good search term (or maybe you are already targeting it)? I went after fort lauderdale and didn't realize some searchers use fort lauderdale fl real estate.

Good to see that Eric. Would you mind sharing with us what it is you're doing? Link building, blogging, etc? I know on page optimizations are pretty easy. It's building links that's tough, and writing a blog for the long tail.

How has your lead volume changed?

What I'm doing...basically listening to everyone here #1 Keyword Research #2 Original Content #3 Relevant link building. Basically, just obsessively following these concepts. Article writing has been pretty key to my link building campaign.

Oh...traffic is up, and I'm converting nicely. I don't think the traffic is anywhere near what it can be - I've heard that "top 5" is where you really see the magic happen. What kind of sparked this "thank you" was a "web lead order" today where a client filled out a contact form, I contacted her, and we've set an appointment to sign a contract on a new condo (not money in the bag, but from the sound of it, it's going to go - and even if it doesn't, I know that more of these are to come.) Right now, my business partner & I are discussing how to make sure we'll have the best system down to optimize the leads coming in for all of our agents - that way, if/when the storm does hit, we'll be ready!

Great job! Yeah, conversions off of contact forms are very nice. What I'm finding difficult is training agents to qualify internet prospects. Having the right scripts and role playing etc helps but it really comes down to experience and doing alot of calls.

Eric, Congrats to your success. My story is similar to yours. I am going after "alpharetta real estate" it is a little more difficult than I thought at least compared with other terms. I am #9 for Alpharetta Realtor and #4 & #5 for Alpharetta MLS - Number 141 for the main term. Plus good longtails for interior pages. It is starting to happen for me, but, in a different way.

I really don't get many form submissions - maybe one every 2 weeks.
I get phone calls, which from what I have read are better. I have only received 5. 3 of them could turn into about $4,000,000 in sales - will sign a listing agreement this weekend with one and have to find a house for another, but great leads nonetheless.

ALL of what I have learned about improving my rankings I learned here. Then I go out and do the work.
