I have come to a point in my real estate career where I think I might benifit from a coach. Not so much for the accountability but for the new ideas and new systems they would bring to the table. So I am wondering from your experance which is the best coaching service currently avalible? It doesnt have to be with Mike or Tom Ferry. I will look at all options and decide based on people experances and the programs offered.
I would love to hear everyones opinions on Coaching in General as well as who has the best coaching system around. |

I dont know about Mike, but I just dropped my membership with Tom.
I was completely unsatisfied and amazed on how little "attention" they would provide for the individual for the amount that was being paid monthly to them. Very frustrated and very P.O'd Yes, they have "systems" but it's nothing new... all the same stuff you've heard or done elsewhere. The ONLY good thing I can pull from it is the fact that after every seminar i DID feel motivated to "get going". Other then that... dont WASTE your time or money on "Coaching" I will probably attend another seminar... in the future.

I have gone to several Mike Ferry seminars over the years (Action workshops and so forth) and have sent for tapes (in the old days) and mp3 downloads of their superstar retreats (mostly around $50 a pop) and downloaded their free scripts. I get a lot out of them, I like Mike's no nonsense approach. Works well for agents that have been around awhile....
I never signed up for coaching, tho. You get lots of sales pitches for the coaching in the downloads, but I think you can get most of his basic concept from the tapes and downloads. They want you to call call call call call call call. And then they want you to call some more. after that, more calling. I don't need a coach to tell me to do that. I just need to look at my bills. I'm not going to pay someone $1000 a month (its probably gone up) for one 30 minute call a week where they hammer you with "how many calls did you make this week" etc. They also have some fairly inane dialogs like "When are you planning on moving?" as an opening line cold call. I cherry pick the scripts that makes sense to me.

My thoughts, exactly. In essence, you pay them to hold you accountable to do what you probably already know you need to do. If paying $1,000/month gets you motivated to produce, then it may be worth it. However, the only ones I hear rave about coaches are either high producers who have Tom or Mike as their personal coach, or the agent-coaches themselves. My wife thinks she is my coach..but in reality, she just gives me the motivation boot daily. No need for another coach!

I just started a coach program and it was nowhere near $1,000/month! I did it because I've been doing real estate for 4.5 years and have had the tools and buyers but lack the motivation and accountability to get ahead. I don't want to give the name of the coaching program I went with yet because I want to sacrifice myself to the cause and then if it works out I'll let you know.

I need these kicks to keep me going but I think a "weekly coaching call" would not be helpful to me. Most of the coaching programs will give you a free session to introduce their product. I have tried some of these and been mostly underwhelmed with the level the coach was on. You might find one that is a good fit for you. Different people respond to different motivations. As I said - it is not for me but everyone is different.

In light of this thread on coaching, can anyone recommend a coach on internet lead capture. We are getting a lot of traffic, but not sure where to go with it. I know I need some login stuff, maybe a better IDX solution, then some drip email systems, but not sure what and how much.
BTW, Cedar, it's been my experience that realtors and realtor training is so incredibly technology deficient that you would probably be disappointed. If you are looking for coaching, definitely make sure the coach you choose is net savvy.
