I don't particularly like IE7, but it's about 10% of my traffic, so I wanted to run both 6 and 7 for testing. Here is a little tutorial that allows to run native IE6, and, if you haven't installed IE7 yet but want to, you can run 7 as standalone without overwriting IE6.
1. Download IE 7 from Microsoft 2. Unrar the exe file 3. Delete the folder that is named 'update' 4. Delete ie4unit.exe 5. Delete spuninst.exe 6. Delete spupdsvc.exe 7. Delete install.ins 8. Create a new text file called iexplore.exe.local and save this file in the same folder 9. Run iexplore.exe to open IE 7 From Tech-recepies.com

Or you can just upgrade to IE7 on your computer and run IE6 in the free virtual machine provided by Microsoft...
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/200...e-machine.aspx This is probably the better solution as most of the "hacks" to get IE6 and IE7 to run side-by-side on the same computer don't always work perfectly.

I've been running across people who have installed IE7 and wished the hadn't. The first option could be a way to "test" IE7 on a machine, couldn't it? Even though it might be a (sic imperfect) test for the reasons Richard brought up might it be safer as a trial method on a questionable machine?
