Myspace idea?

Hey so I have been reading the threads about myspace and I came across something interesting.

My myspace page has a page rank of zero

Not that interesting of a post

BUT

When I viewed my pictures page it has a page rank of 7 - Then I went and checked the pictures page of other members pages and they also have a page rank of 7?

So I added a caption to my picture page

and it allows me to do it

check it out and let me know if you think I am wasting my time?

Then click on the pics and check out the link and page rank

(although I think you need an account to do so?)

I am sure I can get a lot of people to add that caption with my link to their pictures?

Just a goofy thought!!!!

Ben, one would imagine something like Myspace is so easily accessible, that Google et al would devalue any backlinks from their pages - if myspace backlinks passed PR 7 links, everyone and their dog would be abusing the system. Can you show an example of a website showing myspace as a backlink? That would be a good place to start your investigation.

I understand that but thought that since the normal myspace pages don't seem to have a page rank PR0 and that is where most people link that finding that the subpages for pics has a PR of 7 and the sneaky ability to link out that it might be of value?

I noticed this a while back and placed a link in my picture caption. I never noticed any sort of chance or saw it on my link portfolio.

Ben - what exactly is the URL for your myspace picture page (I'm not a myspace user, and clicking on your "My Picture" link takes you to a generic myspace page)?
