Default Need advice on my sites

Hey guys,

I have two real estate sites that are doing very well, but I am always trying to make them better. If you guys have some extra time and want to give me some feedback then check these out:

http://www.conroeareahomes.com
http://www.homeinthewoodlands.com

Thanks a lot!

Jeremy

Jeremy

You need to take the google search off. It encourages people to leave your site. I searched woodland tx real estate and I did not see your site. I might remove the search. Then you might retain more searchers....

Good luck

Ok, I took a peek at: http://www.conroeareahomes.com

Here are a few of my thoughts:

1. Make style and script elements external
From a source code perspective, I always share with fellow webmasters to put any scripts or style elements in external files (be that an external javascript file, or a stylesheet), and then reference said external file from your webpage. You have done a good job of this, and only have a couple of small things left, but why not clean it up.

2. Your 'Quick Site Links' Functionality
I'm viewing your site with Firefox v2.0.0.3, and when I click on the drop down link to look at what Quick Links are available, I immediately get sent to your Site Improvement Form.

3. Your Left Navigation Bar Colors
I personally, and I know others may, have trouble reading white text on a bright/light blue background. I would consider making this easier to read.

Or at least default it to search your site's cache hosted by google, rather than google itself (i.e. note the radio button is pointing to google, rather than your domain).

The music on http://www.conroeareahomes.com/ actually suits the site for once! I normally hate when people put music on their websites... but it works here

I don't know about you guys but it took along time to load and if I wait that amount of time for a site to load it must be for something a bit special.

But it is very loud, music, huge font size and no real style.

I must agree with the others, you need to get rid of the google search to keep people on your site unless you have the search for ppc reasons.

Homeinthewoodlands is better, nice header, but try and get the style done and it will give it a fresh new look that is kinder to the eye.

Thanks for the advice, I will see if I can make the fonts a little smaller, reduce the page size and organize things a little better. Thanks again.
