Default Texas Website Review

Hi guys and gals, I'm helping a buddy with his website and want some external input on a few items that I can take to heart. His website is:

http://www.billremington.com

1. What can we do better, from a coding and content standpoint for better SEO? We are shooting for the keyword phrases, "Prosper TX Real Estate", "Celina TX Real Estate", and "Frisco TX Real Estate".

2. What can we do better for website conversions?

3. We'll be looking for some people to do contextual linking with since it seems that state directories are a waste of time. (Nick are you out there?) I'll soon post that on the proper board.

Thanks in advance for any answers to these questions.

Before I get into it, I need some info on the top producer website product, what areas (I assume there is a backend) do you have control over? What pieces of the site can you edit?

I think that the site looks good, good information on the site and some good ideas for usage.

You are limiting yourself in search terms for just Texas, Prosper.

Is that all they want to concentrate their business on or there other areas ?

There is plenty to build on, I think you need to spy on some of your competitors to see what they are doing right to help your friends site - I had a look in g**gle and there is a lot of competition for you guys to look at and examine before you look to build on it more.

I pretty much have access to the whole site and can edit any part of it I choose. I didn't ask Bill, but I'm assuming that the TopProducer Web Editor is from the same company as the TopProducer databases. I've gone into the admin panel and glanced around and it's user friendly, although it doesn't seem to let you tinker with the coding, it is mainly a WYSIWYG. My friend came to me yesterday and said he just didn't have the time to work on it and he wanted my help. I meet with him later on this week and I'm taking notes on what we can improve and what goals we want to meet.

From what I can see, he needs more keyword frequency and perhaps a bit more content on his homepage. He wants to shoot for the keyword phrase "Prosper TX Real Estate", but it's just not a popular search, although the area is growing fast. I wanted to suggest to him along with that phrase to go for "Frisco TX Real Estate" which is a pretty popular search in Collin County.

He has a professional writer that does the content, and he mainly wants me to be in charge of SEO. I want to apply the techniques that I've learned on this website. Before I present ideas to him, I wanted the expert advise of some of the more advanced memebers of this board.

To optimize for the other towns you need unique content community pages for the towns. Also, I get people filling out my Home Finder Form almost every day & I don't see one on your site, just the MLS search (I like how that is set up).

Just quickly skimming the featured homes I see a few typos in the description on at least one of them (3800 Quail Hollow). Typos like that bother me and make a site less professional. Someone needs to proof read.

Otherwise it's a clean, easy to use site.

What about adding an alt tag to the header?

<h1><img src="http://www.topproducerwebsite.com/users/13221/images/head1.gif"></h1>

That way there is some key text/phrases at the top of the page (code). Just a thought.
