Default Quick search on main page, how does it look?

Should be finishing up with Jim Olenbush's new corporate site next week, and was wanting to get some feedback on the quick search we integrated in the main page (Design only as we haven't tied it into the custom IDX yet) You can view the search design at http://dev40.rewdev.com Always best to have extra eyeballs

Oooh, on a 1680x1050 screen that background brown image overlaps on the left and right side. Are you only optimizing for 1024?

Steve, you are joking right? Standard optimization at REW is 800 and 1024, most consumers like to be able to read the text on a page

I know that! I'm just saying, you were asking about cosmetic, and it's not normal for me to see a background image re-wrapping - even for sites optimizing for 800.

You're right though - if you don't really care about higher resolutions then by all means.

Lookin' good! I like it a lot. A lot of the newer sites have such kick ass designs. (The old ones are excellent too, I've just been seeing them everyday for a year and a half )

*Total newbie opinion disclaimer*

I like the look of the search. However, the content in the brown box only fills up the right 2/3 of the space. The left 2/3 is blank. Is something going in there? If not, it looks a bit odd. Also, it just seems to me that the whole search area takes up a bit more space than it needs to on the page. Seems like it could be condensed a bit (font, padding, etc.).

Hope that helps!
