Okay, this is probably a dumb question but I don't know the answer to it. Almost every page on my entire site has a PR of zero according to my Google and Rankquest Toolbars. (Should I be using something else?)

I've been re-working the back-end of the site to have more search friendly keywords, page names, page titles, etc. and I'm not quite done. However, my PR is still a zero on almost every page.

What can I do to my own site improve this (aside from getting external links). Should I have more internal cross-linking? Do I just have to wait? Does the PR listed on the Google Toolbar even matter?

The PR listed on the tool bar DOESN'T matter. Most of the time the damn thing is wrong. You can still rank well and have no PR.

In denton i have one of the top 3 Allin anchor for all the real estate terms and still dont rank well yet. My NEW denton site is a pr2 And has 9000 links and still doesn't rank.

Are those 9000 links all GOOD links? (IE. Are they all linking back, sites that don't violate G's TOS, etc?)

One of the sites in your Arizona category on your resource page isn't working anymore, btw.

Thanks Nick. I think I'll go back to my original plan and just work on the basics (backlinks, keywords, content, title tags, etc.) and then try to figure out how to improve my actual ranking instead of my PR.

NuHome - how is it that you got 9,000 backlinks? How do you count them and how can you keep up with them. How do you not have to reciprocate with the same number of outbound links? I couldn't even contact 9000 people in a year, let alone get them to link to me.

Sounds a tad suspicious.

You can buy a link back from a one way directory.

With a big enough budget, you could easily buy thousands of back links.

I can get thousands of one-way backlinks in a matter of a few days for the cost of time... and they will essentially be all natural. Nothing suspicious about it.

Yeah but how good could they be in that quantity? Plus, even at $1 each, that's nearly $10,000. The rates I've been seeing for paid linking is more like $25 to $100 per year ... which would put you more in the half-million dollar range. Plus, you have to make sure they're not link-farms which would hurt your ranking.

I'm wonder what a manageable/affordable number of links are.
