doh! this signature thing is driving me crazy.

I can manually create the signature just like I want it (below) when I am in a regular post like this...but for some reason the signature section will not do it. What am I doing wrong? Even when I copy the exact same code from my signature block into this post using the code/code it works...but still does not work in my signature. what gives?
