get my PR up with my peers around me? links next to mine on the search for "Tampa Real Estate" have PR's of 4-7. Why am i there and why hasn't my PR changed after many hours of link exchanging with site with PRs higher than mine? Any help would be greatly appreacated.

You only have 21 pages indexed in Google at the moment; I think first you should work on adding quite a bit more of unique content for some google love. I also see that your allinanchor rating is at 17, so if you are at 20 right now you should be climbing soon.
How recent was the link exchanges with the high PR partners? Are your links indexed in google already? How old is the website?

By the way, I also responded by email when you asked for a link exchange.
I currently have a PR of 3 but sometimes it's 4. However, my web sites rank #1 for my local search (Gladwin Real Estate, Gladwin Waterfront, Sugar Springs Homes...etc). I also have several sub domain targeting different key word terms and niches. Niches are important. For example, I specialize in waterfront property in my farm area. My sub domain http://waterfrontproperty.gladwinrealestateagent.com ranks #1 for search terms, such as Gladwin Waterfront, Gladwin Waterfront Homes, Gladwin County Lakefront, Gladwin Lakes and so on. (Click on the hyper links to view them on the Google Search). I think most of that has lot to do with how my site is built. This includes good title tags and meta tags and good placement of important text. There are so many things you need to do to improve PR and placement. It also takes time. My web site happens to be 4 years old, but I got first page rankings in the first 6 months. Of course, Google takes longer now. Can I suggest adding to your title tag? For example, this is what my title tag looks like on my main page: <title>Gladwin Real Estate Agent - Gladwin Homes - Property - Acreage - Lots - Waterfront - Hunting Land - Beaverton - Harrison - Clare County - Virtual Tours - In Northern Mid Michigan!</title> Ok... it might be long, but I get results. Same with my waterfront niche sub domain, but it's a little smaller: <title>Gladwin Waterfront Homes - Lakefront Homes - Waterfront Property - Lots - Secord - Smallwood - Wixom - Sugar Springs</title> Your title tag looks like this: <title>Tampa Real Estate, Real Estate in Tampa</title> You're using the same words twice, but in a different order. You need to target some more key phrases. Maybe it needs to look more like: <title>Tampa Real Estate - Tampa Bay Florida - Lutz Homes - Land O Lakes Real Estate - Carrollwood Homes - Property - Land</title> (I took some of these terms off of your keyword list) Maybe you want to target oceanfront homes? Find a niche. There are other things you can do to improve your ranking. I found a web site that helped me out tremendously. It's called Self Promotion.com I learned a lot of great stuff off of that web site. It's crammed full of great information. Take your time going through the site. I suggest tipping the guy. I've been using the information and the tools on this site for years. |

Thank you so much, I'm so glad I found this site. I'll definitely make the changes you recommended and I have been to that site it's quite helpful. My site is maybe 4 years old, but I've only been seroiusly working on it for the past year.
I'm trying to assimilate (sp?) all this info at once. (Again the drinking from a fire hose analigy comes to mind) What is Allinanchor and where do you find the raning for that?

Before you implement the changes suggested above, I would search through this forum a bit more and get a few more opinions.

Google doesn't seem to mind the length. My web site has been #1 on Google for several years under many key words and phrases, so it must work. My site was #1 within a few months of me creating the site, back in 2003.
Check out the search results: Gladwin Real Estate (#1): http://www.google.com/search?q=gladwin%20real%20estate Gladwin Homes (#1): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...es&btnG=Search Gladwin Acreage (#1): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ge&btnG=Search Real Estate Gladwin Michigan (#1): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...an&btnG=Search Gladwin Property (#3): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ty&btnG=Search Gladwin Land (#4): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...nd&btnG=Search Gladwin County Homes (#5): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...es&btnG=Search ... and this doesn't include my sub domain that also rank #1 for several key search terms. So the way they are built must be doing something right. Even with a broad term like "Northern Michigan Acreage" my sub domain comes up again as #1 on Google (and "Michigan Acreage" #2): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ge&btnG=Search I get similar results with Yahoo. Normally, my web sites are in the top 5 spots with most key search terms for my local area. Online niche marketing works. |
