Hi
Just wondering if anyone uses spyfu for competitor ppc analysis. Is it possible to put in cometitors url and see all their ads?

I am now...
Thanks for a good tool. (I had a little fun typing in REMAX.com and other major franchises just to keep tabs on where our money is going!) Best Eric

PPC is not for the lazy marketer. Make sure you validate all the info that spyfu spits out to ensure it is suitable for your market. Also since the data is not current remove any seasonal variations.

Spot on. This just seems to be a good tool for some overall surveillance. I am going to test it out a bit more today and see what it will do on some stuff that I have empirical knowledge of...
best; Eric

I think you got to remember that it is only in beta mode. Currently in beta mode, its only tied into google.com's index. Apparently when it goes live it will include google.co.uk index also but not confirmed yet. But it is still a handy tool just to see where your competitors are ranking and for what keywords.

I have seen other PPC marketers think it is the road to riches and simply copy a bunch of KW's into their campaigns with no regard for their current market, landing pages, conversion tracking.
They just ended up wasting money. Although the idea that you can spy on your competitors is nice, all i'am saying is be wise, use your own judgement and set your daily limits |

I know what your saying Graeme and your right, you need to use your own judgment but you have to admit its a good tool which allows you to pick your battles

Yeah it is pretty neat and it will be an interesting one to watch. Like you said it's only in beta.
Shoemoney came up with tool that could collect your competitors KW info. He did not release the tool but demo'd it on request for a few people who commented on the post. He stated that it was nothing to do with GoogSpy which I believe is the foundation for SpyFu |

Graeme;
You are correct about the lazy marketing that sometimes occurs in PPC. People view is as easy money --set it and forget it. That won't work in today's environment. You need to be savvy AND work hard. After further testing on SpyFu...finding some holes in the beta... Still interested on seeing where it OR Jeremy's product (if released) will go. Best; Eric

I think he is pretty busy with auction ads at the moment. But he will probably release it at some point under a dummy name so he is not bombarded with requests/ complaints.
With SPYFU don't spend all your time on their KW's- Look at the ad copy for hidden gems as well. |
