Does everyone write there own content, or do they use a service like Elance or Rent-A-Coder?

I write my own content. I've heard of people using professional writers - never met someone though.

We have copywriters at REW. So, there are definitely clients lurking around who have hired us to do it. You've probably seen Christian and Gerry posting around here.

I use a company in India who specialize in writing seo content. There rates are very reasonable $5 per 500 word article. PM me if your interested in their details.

I write my content and have a copywriter polish it. But now i"m realizing that copywriters write what read/sounds good and not what's good for SEO.

For example, it's generally bad form to use the same words over and over. That's why they invented thesurus' (what's another word for thesaurus?). However, for KW density and other reasons, you would probably want to use your KW repeatedly in your articles.

FWIW, I also have a web designer who writes my code. I just make mockups, templates, bring in sample materials and storyboards. He does the coding because he's better and faster than I. Plus, I don't have the time.

As a rule here at REW we try combine what sounds good with good KW density. However, the KW is in no way the king....

you will never see "for the best in area real estate info, check out the area real estate page. It offers the best area real estate in area real estate and has unrivaled stock in area real estate

Not only is stuff like that a pain to read but SE's are like WTF?? It's a simple matter of finding the balance between properly written, polished content that is naturally KW rich. That is the sentences contain the necessary KW's in a natural way that still reads like a proper sentence, without making is obvious that you are trying to stress a certain group of terms.

I have worked with overseas copy writers in India & eastern Europe but have never been happy with the final product. I found that I always had to go through and tweak too much.

Recently I have approached English/ marketing students at the local universities and this is working well for me. It's a little more expensive but higher quality.

For local info on a real estate site, you need a local writer to develop the content or some one who really knows how to write.

I totally agree its a matter of finding a balance between good relevant content and kw density. I would never compromise the quality of an article to the end user for kw density. This is an ideal, that if you search on the internet you will find good copywriters that have the same beliefs.

I just got lucky, I found a guy who just published a book, and was a reporter on history of my area. He is willing to write some content on the towns. I just finished paying someone from elance $375 for 16 articles on towns (about 400 words a piece), but this guy I will start to add to what she has written. I will start to tackle that KEI thing next!
