Hi I just revamped my whole site. I changed the html pages to php. I am still working on it. I added the css navigation menu but it appears it may need adjusting. I still need to redo the resources pages.I also am going to change the chat and wanted to get some opinions on what product to use.

Please let me know what you think and what you would change.

here it is www.brandonre.com

It's just my opinion but I don't like to see all the links at the bottom of the page. It seems too spammy to me.

However, what do I know, I'm still trying to get my content together so I can go live on my 1st site. Haa.

Good looking site though.

I like having the pictures on the main page.

However, there are a few things that could be easy, yet helpful, changes IMO:
  • I'd suggest making the text color white instead of pink on your red (active) nav buttons. That pink on red is pretty hard on the eyes.
  • Perhaps even white text on the blue buttons as well, as well as making that font a little bigger.
  • I don't think the green headers go with the rest of the page colors.
  • You're missing several spaces after periods in your copy.
  • And, although I'm no expert, that paragraph of keywords at the bottom of your text seems like cut-and-dried keyword stuffing to me. I believe that's a SEO no-no. Any experts that can weigh in on this?

Good luck!

Hey Barry and Erin I appreciate the feedback. I changed the nav and links to white, I think it does look better and more consistent. I also plan on removing the links at the bottom once I revamp my links pages.

Does anyone have a problem with the main nav tabs ? When I scroll over the ones with the sublevel in internet explorer 7 they don't seem to stay in place all the time, it works fine in firefox, I am trying to figure out what the problem is.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Brandon, maybe make the menu options up top larger so they stand out more, it took me a second to differentiate them from the body text. The text is almost too small for me, I'm currently running at 1024x768, which is quickly gaining popularity from what I've been seeing (stats and such).

Hey Brandon,

I like your site a lot, but there were just a few things that kind of caught my eye. I personally don't really like the bright red mouseover on the left navigation, I would change it to something more subtle maybe. And also, I hate to bash your idea, but I think that the chat box just makes the site look a little unprofessional. I guess you would have to ask yourself if it really helps the site or not.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Michael and Jdayen for your feedback, I am testing the chat to see if I get any response and if it does I would upgrade to a better service I have seen other Realtors incorporating chat into their sites and I like the concept but it is difficult to have someone monitoring it all the the time.

I do plan to make the text links at the top bigger.
The red on the hover I was trying to keep with our companies color. does it really look that bad?

Thanks again for the feedback

It's not horrible. Personally, I just do not like bright colors in web pages. Maybe you could just make it a darker red. I don't think it is that big of a deal and others might like it. This is just my opinion.

Hi Brandon

I dont think the color scheme works. The dark blue for the main content background looks out of place. Perhaps you can use a color matching tool to pick colors that compliment each other. Also just regarding your links page, I read somewhere, I think it was this page that google discourages link pages as the links dont appear to be natural. I also agree regarding the bright colours on the menu nav, their a little off putting

Hey Drang, Thanks for the input. What do you mean regarding the links page? Do you mean that the page should not be named links?

Do you have any color matching tools you recommend?
