Hello All,

I am considering having a local web developer do a simple website for me including a IDX solution with BINN's and a CMA function. I asked him for a few references and he gave me this site /kristin /balsley.com He is talking about $350 to do what I want, and allow me to easily add content pages as I wish and as many as I want. His hosting fee including the IDX, is $48 a month, and he is suggesting spending $100 to $150 on PPC at Google for the first 3 months the site is up, he says it will help the site with organic placement though how much is not measurable. He says that after 3 months PPC is not as important depending on the search terms I am trying to cover.

If you would take a look at how the site is set-up as far as key word and other such majic I would appreciate your thoughts as to the quality of the work.

Personally I'm not a fan of the 3 column website. Two is plenty

It's a very basic website. You're getting what you pay for. I mean it's clean cut, and it looks professional. It's just that it looks plain and templated.

this is more what I have told the guy I want my site to look like .thebairdteam.com/ Just add the www at the front of it, no sence advertising other peoples websites.

First up, there is no relationship between organic listings and PPC.

Promoting the site using adwords will get you traffic but there is no benefit to increasing your organic ranking.

As for the rest here are my 2 cents:

1. There is a lot of exta inline styles that bloats the page code. These could be moved to your external stylesheet.

2. There are no alt tags or title tags on links. Any text that is on an image a SE can't read with out these additional tags.

3. Despite a reasonable page size I find the page slow to load. Especially the javascript functionality.

4. You need to redirect http://www.kristinbalsley[dot]com/index.htm & http://kristinbalsley[dot]com all to

http://www.kristinbalsley[dot]com.

ok, good to hear, Have not hired this guy yet, more trying to get a idea as to his skills as a web developer.

Just so you are aware, he is not providing you with a custom IDX of any sort (See thread in Google) all he is doing is reselling an IDX from ihomefinder.

So I guess I would have one more question, from what you can see would you say that he is a competent developer, above average, below average ?????
