I new to the business and want to get my career off to a great start. I'm coordinating right now with another experienced agent and I thought why not do a homebuying workshop. Our office has plenty of space and parking, we have a high quality sound system and all we need are chairs and a format as to how we are going to present the information.
Has anyone done this, with\without sucesss, any tips you can offer, what are some the marketing methods we can use? If this goes well I also would like to do a "how to sell your home" workshop too. Anyone??????????? |

I did this many, many years ago and although I got one sale from it from the two times I did this, it was a lot of work for that one sale, not to mention it was a very low priced first-time home buyer. I did sell that home buyer's home down the road so I guess for the time and energy it was worth it.
If memory serves well, we also did a home investment seminar on a larger scale (rented a room). But I didn't get any business from that one. Back in those days we had a machine that made phone calls automatically with our recorded script telling everyone about the "workshop." I think we sent some letters out or posted flyers in apartments (this was probably over 15 yrs. ago) and we put some display ads in our local paper. We formed a team in our office to handle all of this plus divide the costs. I was the speaker. We did have people come and I did sell a home from it the two times I did it. However, I had already met the 2nd buyer and invited him in person to the home buyer seminar since he mentioned being interested in purchasing a home. Having him attend the seminar might have helped him make his decision quicker. In fact, he's the person that bought the home from the first buyers I got from my first seminar. In each of the seminars I had a loan officer and an attorney - each of who spoke and held a q&a session. The loan officer pre-qualified anyone that was interested.

Tina, did you read the original post? The question is about putting on a Homebuying Workshop. If you're going to bring up older posts to comment on please read through the posts first.
