Default Too much Blog SEO?

I've been debating whether or not to add the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin to our Boston Condos Blog. Based on some other posts/comments, I've been reading that there may be too many links baked into a blog, and there could be some negative consequences with so much linking, regardless of its usefulness to a reader.

What are folks' thoughts on adding tags to your posts via Ultimate Tag Warrior, in addition to having well laid out categories, previous and next type links within the single post view, archives, and the other standards (recent posts, etc)?

Default Re: Too much Blog SEO?

I'm still struggling with all of this. I used a suggested robots.txt to try to keep my categories and archives from getting indexed. Yet it seems like they still are.

Just last night I found a method to make my category listings into links only - no content. Most of my blogs showed only a snippet of the blog post but one of my blogs showed whatever I showed on the home page (I usually show the last three posts in their entirety followed by post snippets for the rest). I'm not sure if I should show any posts in their entirety on the home page or maybe just the last post until the home page gets indexed again.

In the beginning I would try to add any category possible for each blog post. I've since become more selective so the same post doesn't show up so many times. I think with just adding post titles it should no longer be an issue.

I haven't used tags yet although I've tried using meta tag/description plug-ins.

I use UTW on all the blogs I author. It works well and I think produces good clean code. So many plugins I've tried are not W3C compliant and if not I deactivate them.

UTW provides exaclty what I was looking for in meta tagging.
