Hi Guys,
I decided to go with another analytics tracking program from Google Analytics. Then I deleted all the Google scripting code from all my pages. Next, a couple weeks later, all the Google scripting code is back in my code. I didn't put it there. How could it have gotten back into my code? Thanks Greenville SC Realtor Greenville South Carolina Real Estate Downtown Greenville SC Condos

There is no way that Google code could just "appear" back in your source code. You must have uploaded the old code. Look at the Analytics reports and see when the traffic started being recorded again, that might help you figure what happened if you know the day it "appeared".
Just spent the week in Columbia - great city... |

Hi,
The code is in your template files so you would not have been able to remove it without requesting it from us. Anyways ... I have removed the Google Analytics code from your template. Thank you, |

Aaron,
Can you recommend any other good analytics software? I've been experimenting with a few and used to log right into my server on my old site. Thanks Jonathan Greenville SC Real Estate

Jon,
We highly recommend Google analytics so that would have been his answer. What made you not want to use it? In terms of your old site, old server - because we do not provide any server side access to REW CMS clients those solutions are not available - that being said, awstats, and webalyzer etc aren't very good anyways.

Well,
If you read Google's disclaimer, they can share your stat info with a "third" party. I didn't like this. Maybe it is an evil we have to live with. But honeslty if I can find another good stat program I'd rather use it. If not I may have to come back to Google. Is awstats strictly a server side analytics package? I used it once and liked it. I've used Indextools for about 4 years. It's far more powerful and comprehensive than Google Analytics. It can even log into all your PPC accounts and pull down your cost info. The thing I really like is that it's in real-time. No 3 hour delay like Google. You pay based upon usage. The tags go in the top of the body tags so often it's easier to use with template sites.

Oh certainly there are some really good "paid" analytics programs that kick ass, I was referencing free programs only.
