Cedar thanks for sharing that, It really puts a good perspective about the whole "paid links" problem. So does everyone agree that certain paid links are ok and will always be ok?

I think if you buy links you should at least be able to justify buying those links for the traffic. If you can do that I don't see google being able to punish you for it. People, especially real estate agents buy advertising all the time. I believe the trick is to find good places where you can buy a link and it passes PR and Traffic. That way if you ever turned in for a paid link you can honesly say you purchased the link for the traffic.

A good example would be Real Esate ABC and Business.com for paid links that offer good traffic and PR.

Just try to only buy links from relevant sources, if you buy links at all.
