Default Trying To Drive More to Listing Search - Reviews Please!

Hi all!

I've added a extra portion to the front page of my site to drive more traffic to the listing search.

Questions:

Is it too much?
Does it draw attention?
Should I get rid of the star badge?

(site in sig)

Thanks in advance for any critiques.

Steve,

Site looks good. I don't think that the star is too much, but my experience with the mls searches is this. I have 2 sites and I notice that using the word "property" instead of "MLS" has driven more traffic to the page. So instead of having "Houston MLS Search" or "Search MLS" I would use "Search Houston Properties" etc. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just a fluke?

That's interesting. The main reason I use MLS is because it's one of my top 3 keywords but if properties converts more then by all means.

Hi Steve,

I like it, it looks very good. I was going to use a map of my area with some houses on it and the words property search click here, but I may revise that, after seeing your changes to your site.

Is the IDX you are running there the new Wolfnet solution? Oh, you could always talk about the MLS on your main page just a little.

Steve, looks good. Only suggestion I have is thinking about making your "Search Today!" button a bit more prominent, I knew that was the correct button to push but my brain also told me to try clicking the shiny blue star.. ha!

I wanted to click on the house and had not seen the search today button until I had clicked on the house a few times, and then clicked on the blue star. Might want to make the house click able and make the Search Today button into Search Properties Today, and make it flash red to blue to red to blue, Just kind of kidding about the flashing part.

I cannot get anyone to respond on the wolfnet thing for New Jersey. I would like to dump a few Tons of Fire Ants into KW support center, As far as I have seen they are worthless, and i have submitted 5 or 6 questions to them since December and have yet to get a question answered. They have replied that due to how busy they are they may not respond within their normal 24 hour period, well that is a under statement some questions are like months old now.

Since the consensus seems to be that the image and badge should be linked, they now are. Edit: In FF only. Probably bad coding on my part. I'm working on it though.

Thanks to the tips guys - and no Jim, no Christmas lights on this site, haha!

Much nicer! I would still change Today to Properties.

By the way, did REW get you the house picture or did you find it yourself?

I was thinking of using this picture on my site.
