Good link

Can someone please explain to me what is a good link and what is a bad link? By that I mean followed by search engines and counted as an incoming link.

I understand that anything like the site plus (/linkspage.html) is good.

What about the asp links?
What about php links?
What about the links with this #129384 in them?

There is some real junk out there. Some people even claim to put your link on 4 sites when they are just framing the same links page with all four sites!

I don’t want to waste my time with links that are not followed by Google. Can someone clear up the mystery for me?

First I see if the page has been cached by Google. Then I use this tool to see if links pages are spiderable: http://www.1-hit.com/all-in-one/tool...ine-viewer.htm
Then see if they have a robots.txt file that I can read. Then I hire a private investigator to see if the webmaster is honest. Just kidding about that last one.
Then I spend hours checking to see if my links have been removed by those evil webmasters or web site owners.

If it isn't cached, it may be a new page. G has been notoriously slow about caching new pages. You can also see if MSN or Y has cached the page.

Taking the page out of the frame, the page isn't even associated with the website and the spiders sees nothing.

Yep Don that link page is useless.

That's why I use that tool. Think about all those people on that link page who actually think they are helping their serps rankings. They are only helping that agent get one way links. Poor uneducated fools.
