I noticed some have two or three different blogs . Where does everyone find the time to maintain multiple blogs and still able to sell real estate?

Since you sell in multiple areas, you could dedicate secific blogs to each area. Like a blog for Brandon and a blog for Riverview. You could then get specific about areas within Brandon; market stats compared with Tampa, neighborhood info and do the same thing with Riverview...I have been pretty lazy the last couple of weeks myself, but, to post market stats on Brandon on a Brandon blog and talk about that area could drive you to the top in a few months and it doesn't take long to jot down some specifics. Same thing with other areas. I don't place to much dup content on blogs because I have them set up for different areas and if you do that, you shouldn't need to worry about it.

BrandonRE;
That's some good advice IMO. And it is coming from a guy who does multiple blogs very successfully. And he doesn't sleep much either--(grin) Eric

Thanks Eric.
To take it a step farther for you...Go to 1and1.com (I just did) and for $18.00 for 6 months you can set up a blog with the url brandon-real-estate-blog.com (it's available or whatever you want) and be up and running. I used a service that cost me $10 to submit to 100 free, one way directories, registered it in a couple of the blog directories, wrote a press release and a couple of other links (not much basically) and then just sarted blogging...At first, I just started with anything I could find like info from city council meetings, traffic improvement and how it relates to real estate. The first few months (in my opinion) you want to develop content - related to the city if possible. You won't get any traffic as you won't rank. It's been about 4 months and I just took a big jump in the serps to about 20 - 25 for the term "alpharetta real estate blog", I know it's not the most important term - just an indication of what individual posts will start to rank for so now my content becomes more important and the links that go to my website from this blog become stronger. There really isn't too much to the blog and I may move it soon as I the 1and1 platform I am using has no FTP access to customize the blog. However, it is an inexensive way to specialize, develop content nobody else is talking about in your area, add strength to your own website and convert consumers to clients in a way that you can't in other ways. Ideally, I would like this particular blog to rank on page 1 of G for "apharetta real estate", right along with my website. One more important thing (at least for me) do not reciprocate links with your website. You will be able to create your own monster one way links to your website. As long as you put the consumer first in terms of content and that is the driving factor behind your blog (you wouldn't write the same way on your website as you do on your blog which is less formal) you are creating a defensible tool that will help your website while you are helping your business and providing consumers (hopefully) with easily findable, relevant info about the city they either live in or are considering moving to. Here is my Alpharetta real estate blog as an example.

One additional thought--
Since you are doing multiple blogs, do an REW blog! (and for the exact same reasons that Ryan mentioned!). Why? Because it will climb the search engines like a beast (literally) and get you exposure. Send APPROPRIATE links back to your main site and make sure that you are customer focused and it will pay off... And just because I was co-miserating with you about the long hours does not mean I think it isn't TOTALLY worth it! (SMILE) Best; Eric

Yep. If you are blogging for real estate without an REW blog - you are not really blogging!
Seriously, a well thought and written blog post on REW will hit the first page for almost all search terms you optimize for.I use my REW blog different than these little city blogs. If you have a message you want to get out - use the REW platform. For example, I am going to write a blog today on REW about what in the world is wrong with buyers. I think they are crazy (at least in my market) I want to scream and yell a little bit about it and the REW platform is best for something like that.

What I work to put into practice is to dedicate 3 hours of lead generation time each morning before I go into "reactive" mode. IMO, blogging, writing for the website, database management is all lead generation.
That's how I fit it in to my schedule. You'd be amazed how much you can get done if you truly shut the door, turn off the phone, and focus. Forget that I'm writing now though - I should be in lead generation mode. Long night of last minute bowling with some family friends. ![]()
