I am having 2 issues with my email:
1) I have my email set up through Outlook, and at least once a day if not more often it loses the connection with the server. I have another account on there so that makes me think it is not Outlook. I don't know. Does anybody else have this problem?? 2) It seems to happen very rarely, but I know there are some emails that I just do not get. Last week my wife emailed me something and it just didn't come through. I checked her email to make sure the address was correct. Several other people have told me this in the past as well. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Hi Mike
1) Does this effect you receiving your emails? ...Does it then reconnect to the server when you go to check your email? Can you paste your error message here please? 2) Possibly it was detected as Spam. Did it eventually bounce back to her? |

Aaron -
Of course, just like I when I bring my car in, the moment I tell someone else there is a problem it fixes itself. I have not had any problems recently. I will the error message when it happens again. |

It happened again, here is all that it says:
There may be server or network problems or your timeout interval may be too short. Protocol: IMAP Server: mail.indyrebaterealestate.com Port: 143 |

It sound's like your mail client is timing out when connecting to our mail server (which could be on either end). When this occurs due you experience this issue for a longer period of time or does it resolve its self fairly quickly (if you hit send/receive and it comes through on the next attempt right away)?

I seem to be able to send, but once it does this it does not recieve emails from the server until I restart Outlook.

Next time this happens could you try to run the following from the windows command prompt before restarting:
telnet mail.indyrebaterealestate.com 143 This should return a line similar to the following: * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UIDPLUS CHILDREN NAMESPACE THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT THREAD=REFERENCES SORT QUOTA IDLE ACL ACL2=UNION STARTTLS] Courier-IMAP ready. Copyright 1998-2004 Double Precision, Inc. See COPYING for distribution information. That will let us narrow it down to see if its Outlook having some type of issue or if its actually server side. If it is server side when you run the above command the command prompt should just hang or timeout. |

I will do that and let you know. Thanks.

It just happened again and I did get the same message you posted. Does this mean it is an Outlook issue? |

If you where able to connect through telnet but not Outlook it does appear to likely be an outlook issue. However, Plesk does by default have a limit on the number of simultaneous connections you can have from a Single IP. The default limit is 4. If you have more than 4 accounts setup in outlook that connect to this system or if its an office environment this can cause issues too. I've gone ahead and increased this limit to 20 to see if this alleviates the issue. If it does not I would recommend that you go ahead and remove the account in outlook and re-add it.
