Default Critiques Requested

Greetings:

I became a member of this group yesterday and introduced myself in the appropriate forum.

I would appreciate feedback on my site from any and all webmasters and agents. The site is at:

http://www.pittsburghhomesrus.com

Brutal honesty is okay.

Many thanks in advance.

Ken B.

P.S. Since I know this is important, I'll mention it here - My MLS does not allow me, as an agent, to have an MLS search on my site, so that's why it's not there.

Hy KenB,

It's difficultfor me to aswer if the contents of your website have a good potential or not, but i 'm webdesigner and for the graphism i can talk !
So i think your website is too "whyte" , maybe you can put color in the background on the left menu.

Bye,

Michael:

Good suggestion. this site was created from a template and uses CSS. I gave it a try but it's beyond me at this point how to put backgrounds in separate parts of the page. I'm still a novice at all this. Maybe one day when i have the time I'll figure it out.

I like the cleanliness of the site (the white works, just look at Google), but the picture of the keys just doesn't fit with the rest of the site. The yellow just draws to much attention to it.
I would also move your personal information to the right column above the "Quick Help" which will bring your navigation up to the top of the left column.
Maybe ad some tab style horizontal links to the header next to the Pittsburgh Homes R US. Something like this site has: http://www.graduateschool.uwm.edu/research/snapshots/

Now go critique some other people's sites so this becomes a fair exchange.

Kyle - thanks for the feedback. I had actually been thinking about removing the keys graphic. I had some horizontal links across the top but I took them out because I didn't like the way they looked and I thought they were redundant. But I know a lot of sites have that so maybe I should reconsider.

BTW I did provide feedback for a site (see recent thread Some Opinions Please). I hope to contribute more in the future.

Kyle:

When you get a chance, let me know if you think this is better:

http://www.pittsburghhomesrus.com/index-test.html

as opposed to:

http://www.pittsburghhomesrus.com/index.html

Thanks.

Any other comments from viewers welcome.

I like the white. It gives the site a clean look.
