Hey Everybody,
I would appreciate any feedback you can give me on my new Myrtle Beach Real Estate website. I don't have it 100% the way I want it but it is close. Thanks a lot |

Hi Jeff,
I like it. At first I thought the colors could use a bit more contrast, but, after looking at it a bit more, I think I like it. I would say that I think you could break up the paragraphs a little more so that readers can find what they want at a quick glance and I had a hard time finding how to search homes...

Thanks. What do you think I should do other than the Search Myrtle Beach MLS button off to the left and the bold Search MLS link in the text on the home page?

I like a good button. Check out the buttons on my homepage in my sig link and check the other thread "New REW Site". See what you think of those...

Yeah, how about a big search button above your main nav on the left. Just push down the main nav.

I like the layout and colors, and I second the suggestion for a more prominent "Search" button. Indentations for the paragraphs should also break up the blocky look of it.
Also, you're using html-resized images instead of smaller thumbnails for several of your graphics and it makes it look funny. (not sure if you were planning on leaving it this way or not)

Thanks everybody.
I checked out the big buttons and it is very easy to find. I will definitely have to figure out a way to make the search stand out more. Compared to yours, my search button is really hard to find. Michael how can you tell about the pics? I guess I just didn't know there was a difference. Is there a better way to do it? |

I can just tell by looking at them, they look a little more pixelated so I right clicked on them and went to "View Image" so I could see the original (and larger) image.
It really isn't that big of a deal bandwidth wise unless you are dealing with a lot of large pictures (perhaps in gallery), but if you have time it would definitely look better if you could make smaller thumbnail files from the original instead.

When I right click on them it doesn't give me the option to "view image". But I do see what you are saying. Thanks.

Jeff,
I think you are on the right track here. I like the colors and the layout. I agree that the search button is needed, maybe above the Main Menu title bar. I would even consider changing the Search Myrtle Beach MLS to Search Myrtle Beach Homes. You don't have to do this, as many don't. But you might consider moving the blog to it's own domain and marketing it locally as a way for residents to get market local info, discuss vacation opportunities in Myrtle Beach, and promote yourself as a local advisor. Maybe use it to post interviews with other local professionals, etc. |
