Default A bit intimidated

I signed up here for a blog last week. I currently blog on AR and read about this site on the blogs over there (that particular blog got hot fast). Anyway, I think I understand what to do on AR pretty well but this place has me a bit intimidated. I have read where people were banned after their first post and don't want that to happen to me.

My question is if I do a trial blog and there are issues, will I be given a chance to fix them? I am guessing my initial blog may not be exactly what you are looking for but I am certainly open to try to adapt to what you are looking for. I have read some of the blogs on here in the last week and they are A LOT different than the ones on AR. These blogs seem to be a lot less about linking to your own website.

I am thinking of writing a blog on Sanford Golf communities. If I write a blog about that would it be appropriate to include a link to the Golf Communities page on my website? I would also probably include links to some of the golf courses as well. What do you think?

Rita, nothing to worry about. Go ahead and create your blog. Ask for help as well, there are plenty of people here who can and will help you.

Best piece of help to give you to start with would be to look at Ryan Wards Blogs and a few others, they are very helpful and good examples of how to put your blog together.

Thanks James. After reading a few blogs here it is apparent that there are differences between this platform and AR. AR is much more laissez-faire (anything goes) whereas this blogging site is more moderated. I am glad to see all the Spam found on AR is not here but at the same time I realize I will need to modify what I have been doing to make it fit into this site.

Rita,

Just go for it. Your main link is in your profile for the blogs anyway. Just right what you want to right about and have people in your area read. Be aware, your blog will show up for the key words you use with in 1 to 3 days, and hang out there for like a month or two so people are going to see it if they use google at all.

Welcome Rita,

I think the people that got banned right away know why they got banned.

I don't know if you saw this or not --> http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...rey/1821/show/

No reason to be intimidated... and it's in the best interest of all.

Rita - Don't be intimidated. Welcome to REW btw. If you read the thread that Paul placed in his post you will be just fine. Most of the blogs that have been banned have been a direct result of flagrant misconduct i.e - multiple links to their main domain and subpages, multiple text links to their site when their post has nothing to do with what their site offers, ect...

Morgan (webmaster) has outlined the do's/dont's very well so that anyone can create a successful, quality blog that does what it is supposed to do, educate the reader (and help a little with seo along the way).

Just do it! Ask questions along the way. Everyone is pretty helpful. If you are unsure about something that may violate the TOS, just ask...

Matt

I finally found the time to take the pictures I wanted to include and finished the blog. I will have to get used to this interface but I think it turned out pretty decent for a first blog on here:

Nice first post! My hubby used to go to Sanford a lot to visit a Caterpillar plant there. He was working for a supplier at that time.
