Hi,
I'm trying to remember where I heard about a particular tool that can be offered on websites. As I recall, it allows users to track home prices or listings daily to see how home prices are changing. That might not even be totally accurate, but it was something about giving users access to almost real-time information. If this poor description rings a bell with anyone, I'd be grateful to know where to get more info. Thanks, Kathleen

I've not heard of such a thing.
Sounds interesting, but I'm not certain how useful the information would be. It would only be as accurate as the data that put was into it. Where would the data come from? Active listings like the MLS? Closed sales like the Courthouse deed room?

Malok - I just wish I could remember more to describe it better. I can't remember if it is a general tool, or something that was available through one MLS.
I hate it when I have a brain freeze!

My IDX does that in two ways:
1) Registered users can set up a search with email alerts for all new listings in their own current neighborhood. I do this as a service for all sellers for each of my listings, so they can see and track what their current competition is. I also do it for anyone who requests a CMA on my website, as a way to keep them informed about market activity in their neighborhood. 2) For any saved (Favorites) listings, the IDX's "Price Tracker" function notifies the user any time a price change occurs, and also when the property goes off market (U/C, expired or withdrawn). If U/C, the user would have to wait until it closes and shows up in the onlline county records to see what the final sale price was, or I might check it in MLS myself later, if it was a close enough comp to my listing to do that. These functions should be in any really good IDX product.

Thanks Ron. What I'm remembering isn't part of a IDX MLS search engine, but I appreciate the post!
