I have to say I'm lucky. I work with a great LO and I don't need to do anything other then refer my clients to him and he gives them AWESOME service.
If you'd like to PM me where you work [what state] if he can help you I will send you his name and number so you can talk. The only other suggestion I have is talk to some of the broker shops or name lenders and find someone that seems good. Then try them. Or ask other agents you know who they use. It's not easy!

Sounds like you need a personal referral from someone you know and trust - were you mentored by someone in your office? Is there a "non big time" agent in your office that you admire in terms of the way they treat their clients (That has been in the business for quite some time?) - you will find that the agent that really cares about their clients will typically have a great LO as caring about your client does not just stop at what you do with them personally, try to find out who this person uses.

I agree with Morgan here. You should ask any friends you have in the business. Who are they using? If your preferred person isn't working out for you, you simply shouldn't continue to send business to them, as it will damage your reputation.
As for the lunch question, loan officers should be the ones picking up the tab and taking YOU to lunch. They want your referrals. Let them take you somewhere that doesn't serve bologna sandwiches.

Aye, getting a good lender or broker is definitely a big part of the sale. I'm a little biased, and a little lucky, as in my firm, we do both
![]() You won't meet the lender directly, as they have AE's deal with different areas. Each broker will use different AE's. When it comes to lending... sadly.... personality is one of the first things you have to look for. Knowledge of the industry is a big part too, but so many people know it, that if the person you are dealing with isn't nice, and scares customers away, it means nothing.

shouldn't be hard to find a loan officer, esp. with the number of Lenders going bankrupt. I believe over 50 Lending Companies have already filed bankrupt in Texas thus far this year and expected to grow.
