Default # of articles matter?

I was reading about a realtor who had someone write 50 real estate articles for article submission. How much benefit would 50 articles give you, and how many different directories would you place these articles if you decided to do the same thing? Do you have an amount you would be willing to pay for such a thing?

I had some good results from article marketing submitting only 7-8 articles. 50 over period of time would be very effective.

One thing I'd recommend is to create variations of articles - look into Article Spinner or similar service, to avoid duplicate content.

Then I'd send it to 20 or so top article directories.

As far as cost..

I know, there is no way of knowing until you actually test it. Write one good article, submit it to several directories and monitor the results.

Is it generating extra traffic? How many extra visitors? How about ranking?

Then you have a base and you can estimate what are those extra visitors worth in terms of conversion if you ramp up to 50 articles. Not a perfect matrix, but a good start.

Borino -

Are you talking about articlespinner .com? I looked at this & I don't think the program would get around the duplicate content filter at all.

what do these article spinners actually do? do they change a few words or rearrange the document? i think there's a risk the 'spun' article wouldn't make sense to the reader..

If you're going to write articles, do a search a week or so after submitting to see what sites are indexed. Just put the exact title of the article in quotes in G's search box. After a while you will see where you get any benefit and where you don't. Do another search a month or more out to see if it got picked up anywhere besides the article sites.

Good tips Sam!

Another thing is you can sign yourself up to Google alerts with the title of your article in quotes. This should help you to see were your article is being picked up (and noticed by google), and who else has picked up the article. If your article title is really generic (e.x. Georgia Real Estate) you might want to write your name beside it without quotes. It makes searching for articles a whole lot easier.

You type in variations or synonyms of words/phrases in your article - for example:

This house|home|property is located in a quiet|private residential neighborhood.

And the spinner produces several variations on that, using combinations your words.

So basically its a thesaurus that automatically pulls the synonyms for certain words out for you. I could see where it would be a time saver at least....
