I have used craigslist alot, I contacted a few agents that didn't actively advertise their listings and got permission to advertise them, then I would run adds for their listings. I got a lot of leads, it's a great way to build your database. I did get 2 actual sales, but it's alot of work. Most of the contacts you get are full "Tire kickers" and looking for the "huge bargain". You get alot of interest on Craigslist if you have the "best price in the complex, or the subdivision" etc... That's why it's nice to use other agents listings, you can pick through and choose the one's that you think fit best.
If you're getting alot of rental inquiries, are you sure you're putting the add under real estate for sale? Best of luck to you! ![]()

Actually, I have one listing in rental property and one listing in homes for sale. I have gotten several calls for the rental and not one for the sale. I guess I could get with my broker and try posting some of the other firm's listings . . . as none of these agents are using craigslist (I don't think so anyways . . .

Craigslist is a great way to see some instant returns on your work. The key is consistency. Under their TOS, you can repost your ads every 48 hours - which I recommend doing so that you stay as close to top-listed as possible. I used to hit CL really hard - I had 2 sets of ads written & I leap-frogged them so that I always had top-listed ads. If you spend about 30m-1hr every morning posting your ads, you will see results.

I think what Karen was recommending was contacting agents both within your company and outside of the company in order to really "cherry pick" the good listings, which is a great idea. Eric is certainly correct about working Craigslist properly. The agents that we have who have had success with this method have to devote some time to it daily in order to see results.

I totally agree, resubmitting them often to keep em at the top of the list is important. I was even taking the time to sort of sprinkle my adds so they weren't in a clump. You're on the right track
