Hello,

My name is Janna Elphinstone and I'm a business reporter with The Associated Press. I'm working on an article looking for potential home buyers who have had a hard time closing a deal b/c lending standards have tightened recently OR sellers who have had a deal not close b/c the buyer couldn't get financing for the same reason.

The article is trying to illustrate how the mortgage lending fallout is affecting many types of people, even those not stuck in an undesirable loan.

A business associate of mine has had a couple of instances.

Requirements changed overnight after his approval and they backed out.

Also, more and more mtge company's are requiring more money down.

I have an awesome one. So my clients close the home and we are waiting to fund. Guess what? The company goes out of business the same day. The title company had loan docs everything. Luckly my loan guy got them a new loan threw processing everything in 2 days.
