I'm not sure what's going on, but I just checked to see how many pages I have in the supplemental and It's like 90% of my site! When I do the site:www.oaklandhomespecialist.com/* search it shows only 14 pages indexed out of over 100! It seems like I have been losing like 8-10 pages a day.

I noticed in the past few days that I have not been getting hits from my area pages, so I checked and they are no longer ranking. They were all on the first page as of a week or so ago.

The only thing that has changed is that my custom IDX went up just a couple of days ago, could that have anything to do with it? But then again, none of the pages have even been indexed yet (so it seems) so how could it affect things so quickly?

I'd appreciate anyone's help on this.

Follow up: I just checked google webmasters, and it found 3 url's that it couldn't crawl within the last week or two. Could that cause other pages to go supplemental? The three url's it found are a total mystery to me. One of them is http://www.oaklandhomespecialist.com...eal-estate.php I dont know how that came about at all, I know I never created it...anyone got any ideas?

How do you know they are supplimental? I thought they recently did away with the supplimental label.

That one error is likely because you have some broken html in your code. Same question as Dan on the supplementals.

I have read that this is the way to check supps - site:http://www. yoursite.com/& from the google search bar. Is this correct?

I do not believe this is correct anymore. Unless I have supplemental pages on the first page of Google for major terms.

Ok, maybe I need to relax a little. I was using the www.mysite.com/* command and seeing only like 14 pages, but my area pages have all dropped significantly in ranking. My big kw positions are the same though. I wasn't aware that there is no more distinction for supplementals, I guess I'm just trying to find out what made like 8 pages of my site all drop several pages in rank at the same time.

Ok here's a question: If you make changes to a page (like inserting a idx snippet to show listings before the rest of the text on the page) that could adversely affect the on-page seo, then can that cause those pages to drop in serps before the site gets indexed again? According to google webmasters, my site was last crawled 8-17. I made those changes like two days ago, and have since changed it back so I have links going to the snippet pages now.

I ask because when my idx went up ( a few days ago) I made snippets for all my area pages and inserted them directly on the page before the other content instead of making links for them. I have since changed this, but maybe that caused them to drop because the text was now way down on the page after the displayed listings instead of at the top?

this happens when you or someone tries to create a link to a page on your site but doesn't get the URL right. you shouldn't worry about it, google will drop it in a few days.
