I just read about them from a google search and it is jiberish to me.

First, to protect yourself you have to understand what they do.

What do they, is they have your website crawled through a proxy, thus making that website (www.example.com/yoursite.com) have all your data. Then your website gets crawled, and gets slammed with duplicate content.

In order to fix it, there are MANY steps to be taken, much of which are in that insanely huge blog posting that first brought this to the light of day.

If you have not had this attack against you, I wouldn't worry about it yet. In order for someone to do it to you it takes a lot of work, so it's not as simple as spreading a virus. People are getting targeted, not just doing it to any site.

If you are not experiencing this, then relax. People under the gun with this are being targeted. Well said IMO. It is a concern that G! did not respond by fixing it though and i applaud the folks who kept it under wraps and then who had the courage to bring it to light honestly. Props to them.
