Hey guys! I am compiling a list of do-follow real estate blogs here.
The list is small, but will grow. Check it out, and if you have a do-follow blog, let me know!

If we choose to actively participate in blogs that have stripped the no-follow attribute, then we´ll contribute to an online network, and still receive the benefit of a little link juice. I am definitely not encouraging spam - but removing the no-follow attribute encourages others to comment on your blog. The only negative is the extra energy it takes to moderate all the comments.
There are already a couple of places online that are cataloging do-follow blogs - I thought it would be helpful to list the do-follow real estate blogs!

I'm trying to get the nofollow out of mine, but P2 may not have a quick solution.

Excellent - wasn't saying you were encouraging spam - more for the education of members who might not know why it is important or how it can help them

Good points all around IMO.
Follow up point to clarify for those who may not be aware. The blogs mentioned above, while they do send a little link love in exchange for comments, have MODERATED commenting. This means that if you post useless drivel like "Nice post"...or other such, they likely will just delete your comment. They are hand edited and for the most part, some of the most insightful real estate related blogs you will find out there...if you comment and bring some insight to the table, you will gain in natural authority. Bottom line (just as in REW blogs and every other truly legitimate form of internet marketing). You gotta put in effort to get out results. Results do come though. Best; Eric

Take a look at the rules Ryan Ward has posted for his blog. I´ve pretty much copied his on a post on my site. I think it outlines very well what we´re all trying to accomplish.

Thanks Eric,
It's funny in a way. For me, it was difficult when I first got going in optimizing my website, to get what I have read here as SEO tunnel vision. I spend my time now, wherever I go on the internet, as Ryan Ward, not Alpharetta this or real estate that. I think that the internet is anonymous enough and if we are to build strong relationships - real relationships, we should be who we really are. It's kind of like my dad told me when I was growing up: "There's a time and a place for that and this isn't the time or the place" There's a time for anchor text and thers a time for building relationships. In the long run, the relationships are more powerful than some anchor text for a comment on a blog... ![]()
