Question How long will it take to pass this guy on Google? REW?

Can someone explain to me how this guy ranks 28th under the term "Charlotte Real Estate" http ://www . petersteamrealty.com/home. htm

His flash screen has four back links. That is why? There is no content, no H1 or H2 or anything, from what I see. Is there a way to see how long his domain name has been around?? Is that why he ranks? Please explain.

I guess that is why I have hired REW for SEO, I just don't have the time to learn all this. Everyday in real estate I learn something, never mind throwing SEO on top of it.

Keith, with enough time and aged links, sites can be semi competitive - I really would not focus on trying to figure out how to pass #28 (In fact this is a first) I would focus on developing my business and preparing it for an improvement in rankings - perhaps work on some more content for your site etc - It's not worth focusing on what others are doing - (Or productive) if you already know you are doing what is right - You will pass them with time and patience.

Question Re: How long will it take to pass this guy on Google? REW?

I have heard there are some websites that are feeding there main page with blog info? Can I see some examples of this? I am assuming these are REW websites. If this is true, this is a GREAT idea.

Google can now spider flash files, maybe some of the words appear on the page.
Really you shouldn't aim to beat #28, you only get serious traffic for #1 to #10

I've seen sites do this - I can't remember which tho. I tried for a long time to try and figure out how to do this in a manner that's SEO friendly. Most of the tools that I found could do it with AJAX and RSS feeds but were none-too-SEO-friendly. I assume if your website is constructed in PHP like I know many are, it wouldn't be too difficult. However, bridging PHP -> HTML has proven so difficult, time-consuming and unreliable for me that I eventually gave up. I just don't know that much programing.

If you do end up doing this I would only use your own blog feeds and I would only use the summary. A lot of spammers use RSS scraping to create lots of MFA pages quickly and those appear to be some of the pages getting heavily penalized in this latest update.

I really do aim to be #1 page, (if not #1 period) in a year or so, so I figured I would want to know how hard it is to beat a #28 with no content, no H tags, just 4 backlinks and maybe an older domain. I think that should be no contest, in a years time (I have only just started my 3rd month of SEO with REW). I just figured with years of experience on this forum someone could give some stats.

We (as Realtors) do CMA's of the market, keep our finger on the pulse. That is kind of what I am asking for here. I guess what I am hearing is keep plugging away at content, and in a years time, it should all be good and on the first page of Google! So I will be patient.

I think you are talking about REW customers who also use REW Blogs on their site - example http://www.jimolenbush.com/ scroll to the bottom and you will see he uses the RSS reader to pull recent blog posts from his blog located at http://www.jimolenbush.com/blog/

It is a good idea (Assuming you post in your blog often) as it provides interesting updates for your users, and helps send some of your link pop through to your blog.

Yes, that is it. I post most often to my AR blog, Could that be set up? Cost associated with this? Or Should I keep my AR blog to left, and start posting to REW too (different content), and have that on main page! (two blogs)

This has nothing to do with AR - if you have an REW Blog installed (1 hour programming 2 hours skinning) then setting the RSS feed up takes like 15 minutes.
