hello everybody.
i recently moved into a new home with my wife and we decided to have both of our pc's grouped in the same room. I have bellsouth fastaccess DSL and I wanted to share my connection with her so that she wouldn't need to use dial-up (not to mention paying the extra $ to do so). well, I recently purchased a linksys (model #BEFSR41) router and I hope that this will accomplish what i'd like it to do, however, I've never done this before and i needed a step-by-step walk-through from anyone who would be so kind. let me mention that I plan on hooking my xbox/playstation to this router so that I wouldn't have to switch CAT5 cables everytime i wanted to play, but obviously i won't be using the internet at the same time i'm playing (due to performance issues). my computer runs on windows xp media center edition her computer runs on windows 2000 could this be accomplished? thanks in advance. _________________ Hot and sexy youtube videos Fertiggaragen |

Yes this be accomplished. That model router is a "plug and play". After you get everything connected, run the disc that came with the router on every computer and it will walk you right through.
With the game system, after you have it connected, you just need to go into your network settings on your console to get everything set up. Personally, I would return that router and get the wireless setup. That's what I have and it's sweet. I have two PC's a notebook and a PS2 all running off the same router and I see no lag. Good luck

I would recommend http://www.speedguide.net/read_reviews.php?id=90&page=3. I think it will be exactly what you are looking for in terms of setting up your router. Not sure about xbox or playstation though...
Whoops... just noticed the person who asked this question was banned. Well, hopefully this will help anyone else with the same problem ![]() Last edited by Philman : 11-16-2007 at 12:01 PM. Reason: Didn't realize the person who asked this was banned |
