I thought it might be interesting for everyone to post what the average yearly tax would be on a home that is assessed at $300,000. For Charlotte county Florida, you would be looking at a yearly tax cost of about $4500.00 per year. What about your state?

Oh yeah in Florida we don't have a state income tax...so that helps!

A $300K assessed property would have a yearly tax of approx $1400 - $1500 here in Calgary (can you say CHEAP?)

Currently a home with an assessed value of $300,000 in Sevier County, Tennessee has a yearly tax rate of about $700. There is also no state income tax here. Sevier County is very cheap on taxes b/c of the amount of revenue generated from tourism. One county over in Knoxville is about twice the cost. Still not bad. We moved from Wellington, Fl in 2003 and our tax bill that year was $3,900!!

Around $6,000 here. (taxes are reassessed upon deed transfer to approx 2.2% of the purchase price).
