Best 5 Social Networking Sites?

I have been reading that sending your best blog entries to these social networking sites is real beneficial to SEO. Is this true and what are the 5 best ones to submit these articles to?

How do you send the articles from your blog without getting nailed for duplicate content?

Syndication is not duplicate content - however those are social tagging or bookmarking sites, not really what you meant I don't think.

Thank you for the response. How do you syndicate to one of these sites? Obviously I wouldn't copy and and paste. I know that you have the orange RSS buttons on blogs, but I really don't know how to use them.

Set up an account and then you can add a link back to your blog. Some of them will have you install some code.

They will then come to your blog and index your posts for you. Try mybloglogDOTcom, blogcatalogDOTcom, blogtopsitesDOTcom, bloggernityDOTcom, claimidDOTcom.

I am just doing this myself so I can not vouch for any of them

If you are talking about adding it to you site then you can use addthis.com if it blogs then you will need to install plugins.

Myspace used to be good for it, but they have disabled direct links except in your blogs..... and your blog is not usually indexed..

Ive recently seen google pick up very quickly on videos and content we submitted to youtube and myspace video. It often lists them as the next search results, or even ranks them higher than my own site in many instances. Granted these links Im referring to were not real estate related - but you post is asking about social networking sites, of which, I am very familiar with.

Also, you seem to have a little confusion about what is syndication and what is social networking. Syndication is what happens when you post unique content to your site, and its offered in a news feed. Generally your blog system builds this for you, and also may handle pinging ( sending out a notification ) to sites signalling to technorati/etc that your feed is updated.

The social networking sites are building methods in which people can 'tap' into these feeds for information. Generally, this is referred to as aggregation. Hit up a few pages on the wikipedia for those keywords and you should be in good shape. Also, you can see how this whole loop is somewhat related - the information in feeds often fuels the discussion of social networking circles.

Also, no one has mentioned facebook yet?

We should not ignore them.

Ive read that facebook is appealing to the professionals on the web vs. the mayhem on myspace.

Maybe you should take a serious look at creating a facebook profile.

My myspace page has already landed me several jobs... Im signing up for facebook soon.
