Pages dropped from Google Index

I just moved to an REW site and my site just got it first index from Google.

Within a few days (3 or so) after the first index, I noticed that there were pages 'dropped' and I do not know why...

The site is clean and currently has minimal links (incoming or outgoing). The only thing that could be a potential problem is duplicate content (on my site as I feature homes, condos, etc. across different communities).

Any insights from out there would be much appreciated...

Give it a few days - up to about 10 days to see whther or not they come back. It happens to sites all the time. I have seen my homepage appear to be gone and come back as well as virtually every other page at one time or another - especially after a major change...

It does take time. However, also do a Google Site: command for your REW DEV environment url. I found, after my REW site went live, that they had not put a proper robots.txt in the DEV environment, and somehow, Google indexed the DEV site, making my new live site almost all dup content. I am still paying for that problem, with minimal pages indexed in Google's primary index, even after jumping through lots of hoops to get the DEV site pages removed from Google with Webmaster Tools.

this is very normal

just give it a few days and everything will be fine, meanwhile get some quality backlinks for your website.

We have had problems with blog posts dropping out of the index lately. Admittedly, the person who was blogging was a new part-time employee, so he might be doing something wrong that we missed. But when I look back, the only issue I can see is duplicate content because of the labels of the posts (which have now been removed).

In the beginning of blogging on the new blog last month, he'd post. The post would show up within 24hours in the top 30 results in the standard google SERPs for the exact title of the post.

Then, last week, all the pages dropped out of the Serps. You can still find them in the Google blog search, but for that particular blog, it's no longer in the standard search.

Has Google recently changed something about duplicate content maybe?
