Default Arrhhhh REW 3.0 graphic

Ok I know this ain't the website reviews forum - but I don't actually want a review, more some help.

Phil and I have been working on the new look REW corporate site for quite some time - and have gone back and forth probably 50 times in terms of the main branding / graphic area for the homepage. I have it blank right now, and I think I need some fresh eyes / suggestions - you can view it at dev125.rewdev.com

We have had lots of great graphics in there, from screens of our great custom sites, to flash slideshows, to branding / text image combinations you name it! I am either just to much of a perfectionist, or to close to the project (This is my baby, and I want to have the greatest image possible to make a first impression on first time potential customers)

Thoughts? Image ideas?

Honestly,

I was disappointed when I saw the lizard disappear. That was up there for a while and I think people recognize it.

I will be working the lizard in there as an accent element but it won't be part of the main graphic

Don't be surprised if this little guy shows his face in content pages from time to time

I've always been partial to seeing the kind of company I do business with.

What I mean is, if it were me, I'd do a story board type of image...

The business Logo
I'd have professional photos done of:
The exterior of the office bldg (if it's a class A bldg)
Photos of Hilights of your locality
Employee photos/Group/Team Photos - Where everyone looks professional
Split image - Image of the most popular/Best looking sites with testimonial blurbs next to them some with specific features descriptions

Basically, tell the story of REW in images.

Personally, I've not been a fan of the lizard reminds me of an insurance company.

I think the site looks good, I would stick with the work you do and the pretty people who do it. No ugly people

From a personal standpoint, I don't like slide shows.

Flash is O.K. if its like for 5 seconds and then stops/goes away.

I don't like too much distraction from whatever it is that I'm looking for on a site.

Morristown is an unknown quantity at this point

What about creating a relevant and click able graphic for each section of the main website. The forum could be a bunch of people in a auditorium yelling at each other, Blogs could be like a press, Web Design could be several engineers working on some project, like a Jet engine or something, and so on. I think people relate to memorable pictures much more than words.

Just My opinion,

Split it in half (or more like Michelle Sterlings site) and have a flash show of the home page screen shots linking to the actual sites of your best work.

It's how I found you and I was sold on your services before I even talked to Craig.

One that I always remember is the Logoworks .com graphic, in their gallery people are sitting on a bench looking at the logos which appear as artwork on a wall which changes to the next set on a user click.

A spinoff from this maybe would be a guy/girl sitting at a computer that has its screen changing which shows your different websites?

I agree! I like that graphic as well.

Morgan,
I'd go for a static image with links rather than use flash. I just don't like seeing flash in the main header area, but I think it's great for other things like tools, graphs and stuff.
