Hi, I found this site after typing Real Estate forums into yahoo, i hope i can get some input from you guys. I am in my 3rd year in college and studying IBM. I have had an interest in real estate but didnt really get a chance to get into it and study it. I just turned 20 and I want to get a real estate license. My dad owns his own Architectural firm and had some Real Estate books from before and i started reading them and enjoy learning about it.

I was wondering if at 20 its too young for me to get into? What kind of troubles will I encounter being this age? What should be my first step into trying to enter this field since I am still in college? I need advice from you successful people that have "made it". HOw did you start, and how was the road to success. THanks for ANY input or feedback. I appreciate it.

In IL you need to be 21 to get your license so check on that first. You will run into a few people think that you are "to young" at the beginning. The real problem is that you don't have the experience at the beginning and it is easier to just say that you are to young.

Thanks for the replies. Yea I just checked and it turns out you can get one at 18! Wow... Yea i know entering the field people will look down on me intially but I'm ready to deal with that cause im just lookin for some experience. Time to start hittin the books!

I have a twenty year old agent who recruits for me. He is on top of his game, because he thinks he is.

If you are serious about it and want to be great it will come together for you. Knock out your principles course. I recomend www.premeirshcools.com for their principle course on line. Just sit down and do it. I have agents that have finished the principles course in 3 weeks.

Then the real test comes, apply for the state exam immidiately after you receive your principles certificate and start studying for the exam. Email me and I will coach you on passing the test.
